This is really good, really good. We've used it lots. The fact is that its brilliant to communicate with her much better. It is enjoyable and easy to use. It is a bit harder to communicate back. We use it daily and its absolutely made a difference. We've used it to make a calendar of what she wants to do. It's changed her life really, she's not quite so stressed. I have recommended it to other parents.

Writing With Symbols 2000 allows people to write via text and symbols. This easy to use program incorporates keyboard, mouse and switch access via on-screen customisable grids. The software comes with an easy grid setup wizard which is guaranteed to get you started quickly. You can design grids yourself, or use the library of grids supplied with the program.
The software includes two symbol sets, Picture Communication Symbols (PCS) and Widgit Rebus, which can be re-sized and formatted for both communication and printing purposes. Writing With Symbols includes a picture-based spell checker to ensure ease of use.
Anyone with a basic knowledge of computers will be able to set up and customise this package. The software also has text-to-speech facilities, and comes with extensive manuals, which help to make it an excellent choice.

It's absolutely brilliant. My daughter loves it, she uses it all the time and it's the same as she has at school so she is familiar with it. She has communication problems so she uses the symbols. With the symbols, she can find the one she wants and it does it for her. It's easy to understand. Before we got the program everything was a struggle but it has helped her with her communication skills immensely.
