This is an excellent product for adults and children aged seven and up. It is a great literacy tool, covering screen reading and word completion.

Read & Write has been a great assistance as I'm currently doing college work and without it I wouldn't have got on so well. When I type things up I use text read and write, it helps me a great deal with accuracy. I use it every time I go on the computer especially if there is a complex piece of text. It gives me an independence.

TextHelp Read and Write combines many tools to help people with dyslexia or others who experience difficulties with their literacy. It combines screen reading and word completion in one package along with other literacy tools, including a comprehensive dictionary, a calculator and homophone support. There is also full speech support.
The dictionary in Read and Write not only gives you a wide selection of words to correct your spelling, but it also gives you the definitions of each word, with contextual examples to help you choose the correct one. This can be read aloud, using a realistic voice, to aid proof reading. There is a talking calculator and homophone recognition (words such as ‘hare’ and ‘hair’, ‘fore’, ’four’ and ‘for’).
The screen-reading function will read any text visible on the screen, not only in Alert windows and icons, but on buttons and, most impressively, in web pages as well! It reads the text where the cursor is moved to, a sentence or paragraph at a time. It can also highlight text as it reads. This is ideal for people with mild visual impairment, or for anyone who uses the Internet but has trouble making out the text.
Read and Write is compatible with Microsoft Word and other word processing packages.
Read and Write Gold also includes OCR (optical character recognition) technology, which allows you to scan in text and have it read back to you by the computer.
