Its lovely, it's marvellous. He can read all by himself now, it reads for him you see. He uses it every day and he loves it. It's the best thing he's ever had. It's definitely made ours and Sam's life easier.

Information

This software is an excellent way for people with mild visual impairment, or learning difficulties such as dyslexia, to access a computer. Text is read back to you, either by selecting or just pointing at it. The software works with practically any program, and is great for using the Internet. It uses the standard speech that come with your computer, however, which means that the quality of voice is not as clear as that of other, more expensive titles such as Texthelp’s Read & Write and WordRead.

Screen Reader is ideal for encouraging independent computer use.

Just everything is useful. Its really easy to use, I can't say what's best because everything is good. It's used about 4 or 5 times a week. My son can't read so to have the speaking option is really handy. I have recommended it to other parent.

I find it very helpful. I'd say I enjoy doing letters and sending emails. It's faster than doing it by post. I just like to go on it about 3 or 4 times a week. It's made a big difference. Before I couldn't do anything else other than writing letters but now I can send emails. If you have similar problems to me that you can't use a keyboard then I think it's very useful.

It's great, it has been useful. He's been using it and enjoys it. It makes things a lot quicker and he uses it nearly every day. Oh yes definitely recommend it to others. The best bit is learning words for him and its good learning for younger people.

It's absolutely brill 'cos Dan can't read and the parrot speaks to him. The advantage is that in his own way he is getting an understanding of what is happening and he's gaining independence. Every single day whether at school or home he uses it. He comes down turns it on. He clicks everything by himself. I've told other people about it.
