Information
The most commonly used mounts are universal switch mountings. These have two sections, each 25cm long. There are two types available:
Variable Friction Arm (VFA) - with a large knob which you tighten to fix the arm in position;
Magic Arm (MAG) - with one lever which tightens up all joints and fixes switch position.
We prefer the former, as the latter requires quite a lot of strength to tighten it, and this process can jerk the arm away from where you want it to be.
The third type of mounting arm that we recommend is a Gooseneck mounting arm, which is 56cm long, and flexible. It isn’t as strong as a universal switch mounting, but is cheaper and can be more adaptable.
All mounting arms can clamp to tables, wheelchair tubes and other surfaces.
ALL MOUNTING ARMS REQUIRE A MOUNTING PLATE SPECIFIC TO THE SWITCH YOU WISH TO MOUNT.
