Software Adaptations
This section covers various software titles that we use regularly. They have been split into seven sections, which can either be selected from the list below or from the menu to the left.
Aidis use a combination of paid for and free software, and we have included both types in this section. Please bear in mind there are certain things to consider when downloading and installing free software. Click here for further information.

Software Adaptations
Literacy
Literacy support software can be used to help people with problems such as dyslexia or developmental delay, and includes voice recognition and word completion software.

Switch access
Switch Access software is controlled by using switches rather than a keyboard and mouse. The titles covered here are for more confident users, and allow the computer to be controlled with one or two switches.

Cause and effect
Basic software. All software in this section can be used with a mouse or a roller ball, switch or touch screen. Much of it can also be controlled with a keyboard.

Visual impairment
This software, for use by blind and visually impaired people, uses speech or on-screen magnification.

Life skills and communication
Life skills software offers a fun way of practising and understanding real-life situations, hopefully helping the user to become more independent. Communication software helps with speech and written communication.

Keyboard and mouse
Keyboard and mouse software contains mainly free software developed to help use the keyboard or mouse.
Other
This section contains software which doesn't easily go into any of our other categories, but which we think people will find useful.
