On July 27th, Aidis will start walking 84 miles along Hadrian’s Wall. We intend to walk this distance in just 3 days. Here is our Hadrian’s Wall Walk FAQ section, for all those questions you really want answered.

Click here for up-to-date news on the walk - we're keeping this diary in the run up to the walk.

Why is Aidis walking Hadrian’s Wall in 3 days?

We wanted to do something to raise funds so we can help even more disabled people. We had decided to walk Hadrian’s Wall and then saw other charities were also walking in July. We wanted to make it a challenge and so decided to walk it in 3 days. We will leave no walker behind.

How will you be taking on the walk? Will you be carrying rucksacks and sleeping in hotels?

To save costs, we are going to borrow a mini bus from another charity to get us to the wall. We will have an Aidis support team who will be working to ensure we have enough water, food and they will be setting up campsites for the end of the walking day. Yes, we’re going to be camping!

What is the land like on the walk?

There are 3 sections. The first and last sections are relatively flat and will not be as difficult as the middle section, which is noticeably hilly. We intend to walk 35 miles on the first day, followed by 20 miles of hilly, rugged terrain and then the final 30 miles on the 29th July.

Will you be taking pictures?

Yes, we intend to take lots of pictures to show everyone who sponsors us. The best bit about this walk is that we will suffer. We feel that now we have air conditioning we no longer suffer enough. Last year, our office was 46° C in the summer but now we have air conditioning and so we obviously need to feel the heat of the midday sun.

OK, you’ve convinced me. Now how do I sponsor you lots of cash?

Aha, well that’s the easy part. All you have to do is visit www.justgiving.com/aidiswalkhadrianswall and donate! You can also download our specially designed, Limited Edition “Aidis Walk Hadrian’s Wall” Poster. You can then show this to everyone you’ve ever known and persuade them to donate as well.
