This is where we will keep a timeline of activity running up to the day we start walking, diary of the 3 day walk and the results of fundraising.

01.08.07 – Total Raised: £4,685.98

We completed the walk in less than 3 days!!!!

We arrived tired and blistered at Wallsend after 71.5 hours on 29th July. That’s less than 3 days of walking.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored us but don’t forget, if you haven’t yet you still can!

Soon we will set up a gallery for everyone to view the expedition photos but these will have to do for now:

This is the first noticeable part of the wall on the West side of the Country. We found this at the end of the first day, after about 30 miles walking.

Our second day was very hilly and meant lots of steep climbing. This really wasn’t good for our knees.

This is the highest point on the wall. At this point we still had over 45 miles to walk

The Support Team: They cooked our food, provided us with drinks and supplies. They were vital. Here they are heating up some hot chocolate near Carlisle.

23.07.07 – Total Raised: £2,794.61

Only 4 days until we walk!

We did a stock check of everything we need and whether anyone had spares to lend each other. The most important items at the moment seem to be waterproof clothing. Hopefully the wall hasn’t sunk!

Some things we’re taking: walking boots, tents, sleeping bags, ground mats, cookers, lots of water, food, medical supplies, sun cream (to keep the rain off), towels, sunglasses, torches, small rucksacks and most importantly, games for the evenings.

E-mail advice and suggestions to: info@aidis.org with the title, “Help Aidis walk Hadrian’s Wall”

We have thought about food intake for the walk and we reckon we will need to be taking in as much as 5000 calories a day to have the energy to do the walk.

Chris Moss, Chief Executive of Aidis has now got a justgiving site set up. Donate and leave Chris an encouraging message at: www.justgiving.com/chrismoss

19.07.07 – Total Raised so far: £2,441.06

Today we started worrying about blisters. This will be the main problem on the walk. We have proper walking shoes and dual layer socks but will it be enough???

We started to consider what time in the morning on the 27th to start walking. We settled on waking at 5:00 AM and start walking at 6:00 AM

We sent out a number of letters today, hopefully some of these will generate cash for the walk
