There are some key barriers that disabled people need to overcome to make the most of opportunities available through information technology:

The Aidis Trust has done some research identifying and providing some weighting to these barriers. This research is based on a survey of 150 Disabled People and 50 organisations or professionals working with Disabled People. It highlights cost as being the most important barrier that stops Disabled people from taking advantage of ICT to achieve social inclusion.

This research can be downloaded in PDF format here and is also available in print format. Please email Policy@aidis.org or telephone 020 7426 2130 to obtain a copy of the report.
