Technology for Life for Disabled People

It is vitally important to continue to get Aidis' message across that technology can help disabled people continue to lead active, fulfilling lives. Many people assume that they will not be able to write or use a computer to help them in their day to day lives if they become disabled. However, for some things, there really is technology out there that can help. It is essential that each individual is aware of what is appropriate for them.

Our experienced and expert assessors visit disabled people in their homes or schools, listen to them, consult with their stakeholders, and advise them on what the most appropriate equipment and software is for them. These specialist adaptations include large keyboards with guards for people with shaky hands, head pointers and speech recognition software for those unable to use their hands, and special magnification software/screen reading software for the visually impaired.

Please see Samantha's story for a personal perspective of how critical the expert assessment that Aidis provides is.
