Adult and children learners can use this software to create story's, images and animations. Symbols is a direct way of communication, therefore Widgit symbols have designed a software specifically for written communication. It allows users to create words and images with the use of symbols. Each symbol represents a word, therefore when you type any word or letter a particular symbol will appear.

The interface appears to have two modes: Create and Adjust. Different toolbars appear for each mode and to make it clear a different background colour is displayed behind your document. Adjust mode is also used when you are inserting images and clipart from your documents.
One of the main features in this program includes being able to listen to your sentences. There are settings in Print 2 that lets you listen to your sentence by simply clicking on the speaker icon in the toolbar.
