Awareness Courses
Our courses are aimed at raising the awareness of what assistive technology exists to help disabled people gain independence. Whether it be using a computer to carry out tasks such as emailing, using the Internet, writing letters or just accessing a computer to play games.
We are also leading the way in the latest technologies such as communication Apps, being used on tablets and handheld devices such as the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. We would be happy to impart the knowledge we have learnt so that it may help you.
Through our courses, we aim to give people a better understanding, not only of the latest technology on the market, but also demonstrate how it can be put to use for individuals.
We will travel to a location of your choice, at a date that suits you, anywhere within the United Kingdom. As with all of our services, our courses are offered completely free of charge.
Group Training
Our free group training sessions are centered around Assistive Technology and are carried out at a venue near you. They provide an overview of what hardware and software exists that can enable a disabled person to access technology, and cover the issues that can be faced and how to overcome them. This is an ideal way to see what's available, ask questions and try out the various solutions for yourselves.
Group training is also available free of charge at a venue near you on the following software titles:
- Claro software suite
- Clicker 5 & Clicker 6
- TextHelp Read & Write 11
- The Grid 2
If you are interested in discussing or booking either an Awareness course or Group training session, please phone our Helpline on 0808 800 0009.
Aidis also offers individual training sessions that are carried out remotely on certain pieces of assistive software. The range of software that we offer individual on-line training on is far more extensive than that of the group training courses. Using the latest remote training software to link to your computer over the Internet, we are able to offer training sessions free of charge and as often as you like. We are adding to the list of software. Just call our helpline on 0808 800 0009 for more information.
