On the 8th of November, The Aidis Trust's patron His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent, met with Aidis' Trustees and members of staff.
We were able to demonstrate how our services have developed over the past few years to reach even more people. Enabling us to help increase independence for even more people with disabilities through the aid of computer technology. There are around 10 million people in the United Kingdom who have a disability, Aidis, through its' free services exist to help them, focusing especially on those with the severest levels of disability.
Demonstrations were given on how we can support and train computer users remotely, allowing them to be helped at a time that suits them and at a location that is most accessible to them - in their own homes.
A selection of assistive technology was also demonstrated, both computer hardware and software, some of which has been designed for the disabled and some not. However, all allowing access to technology for those with disabilities and enabling them to communicate, work and play.
The Duke of Kent has been our patron for many years now and we are extremely honoured and thankful for his continued support.
